Amarnath Sharma, a native of Bokaro, Bihar, completed his M.A. in painting from M.S. University, Baroda. His art reflects the tension between small-town life and the sprawling cityscapes he later encountered. Through layers of paint, he merges personal experiences, using imagery as a metaphor for his journey from rural simplicity to urban complexity. Dominated by city dwellers, his works explore the dynamics of urban life, using solid forms, defined patterns, and somber colors to comment on society. Sharma’s work has been showcased in solo exhibitions in Mumbai and Baroda, as well as group shows across India. He was awarded by the Bihar government in 2020 and is also passionate about teaching children, drawing inspiration from their fresh perspectives.
The artist currently lives and works in Vadodara formerly, Baroda, India.
