Influenced by Dutch still-life painting and Surrealism, his compositions often feature fruit, books, vases, and flowers from his garden. These objects are arranged in geometric interiors devoid of people yet suggestive of human presence. A native of Southern California, Cohen graduated from the University of California, Santa Barbara. His work is included in numerous public and private collections, including Phillip Morris, New York; Pacific Bell, Los Angeles; the San Diego Museum of Art; and the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, New York.
