Cosette Grider, transitioned from being a hobbyist to a full-time artist in 2020 amidst the chaos of the pandemic. After spending 14 years in the fashion industry, she felt a strong pull toward a new, creative path. Through dedication to therapy, life coaching, self-help books, and online art courses, and spurred by a sudden family tragedy, Cosette embraced her artistic gifts to live a life of purpose.
At first, she created portraits of people and pets using sketches, watercolors, and acrylics, bringing joy and emotional fulfillment to her clients. Despite this success, she felt a deeper tug towards a specific niche. Inspired by female resilience and the unapologetic confidence of women who defy the odds, Cosette focused on painting a series that celebrates women from the vintage Silver Screen era. Through this homage to Old Hollywood, Cosette critiques societal standards and highlights the strength and empowerment of women.
The artist currently lives and works in Los Angeles, California, USA.
