Rajesh Ram (b. 1978)
Rajesh Ram, born in Jharkhand, is a contemporary Indian artist known for his photo-realistic paintings and sculptures. His works often depict ordinary figures in everyday settings, encouraging viewers to reexamine familiar objects and situations. Ram’s rich use of color, ranging from earthy tones to vibrant hues, adds depth to his characters, whose expressionless faces leave their inner thoughts open to interpretation. A graduate of Patna School of Art, Ram has exhibited in prominent galleries like Art Pilgrim and has held solo shows across India. His work has been featured in auctions, with his highest-selling piece fetching $18,976 at Saffronart Mumbai in 2008.
