Sajal Sasanka Sarkar, born and raised in Kolkata, graduated in Painting from Rabindra Bharati University in 1995. After working as a practicing artist in Kolkata for two years, he moved to Baroda to pursue a Post Diploma in Graphics (Printmaking) at M.S. University, Baroda, graduating in 2000. Known for his constant experimentation with medium, technique, and scale, Sarkar skillfully blends delicate watercolors with large-format canvases. His mastery lies in combining various media to create a unified, seamless experience for the viewer. His work often bridges the gap between the real and the surreal, making the complex elements within his compositions appear effortlessly coherent.
The artist currently lives and works in Vadodara formerly, Baroda, India.
