Suryakant Lokhande, born in Mumbai, is a multi-media artist blending rural and urban cultural influences. A graduate of J.J. School of Art, his early career in advertising at agencies like Lintas and O&M sharpened his understanding of the intersection between art and media. Lokhande’s work draws inspiration from pop art, reflected in his mixed-media creations using high-gloss paint. His ability to transform real-world subjects into powerful visual statements is central to his practice. As a sculptor, he employs unconventional materials like old wood doors, fiberglass, and waste plastic. One of his notable works, “The Camera Man,” installed outside Mehboob Studios, was created in collaboration with RPG Art Foundation. Lokhande has exhibited widely in India and internationally, earning recognition among collectors and art enthusiasts.
